A man found dead on Interstate 5 in Oregon was identified nearly 45 years later, and police say the notorious California serial killer is the only person in the case.
The 30-year-old was identified as Larry Eugene Parks. Kyle Kennedy, an Oregon State Police spokesman, said Randy Kraft, known as the "scorecard killer", was the only person to investigate the killing in 1980.
"There is some evidence that we are dealing with it to determine this connection," Kennedy said. "We are very confident that we have a meaningful person."
Kraft, 80, was convicted in 1989 Kill 16 people In California for more than a decade, he was sentenced to death. He is still incarcerated in San Quentin State Prison and denies killing anyone.

In 2024, an Orange County Sheriff's Department Investigator contacted the Oregon State Police's refrigeration case and proposed to use a forensic investigation of the genetic lineage to help identify the remains. According to police, genetic features were developed from blood samples and the park’s identity was confirmed after possible family members submitted DNA profiles for comparison.
Police said his disappearance was unknown to his family until his identification last month.
In 2023, the body of a teenager believed to have been killed by Kraft was also discovered using an investigation genetic lineage.
