Caitlin Clark's favorite MVP, Paige Bueckers Rookie of the Year

Indiana Hot superstar Caitlin Clark is a favorite to win the 2025 WNBA Most Valuable Player Award, and the best chance for the first pick Paige Bueckers is to win the Rookie of the Year.

Given her huge college career and record rookie season, it’s not surprising that 23-year-old Clark will compete for the league’s highest personal honor in the second season – but it’s her immense popularity among the betting public, which has really pushed her to a favorite position.

According to ESPN BET odds, Clark is a favorite to win the WNBA MVP at +200 +200. After +180 is on, three times and after dominating MVP A'ja Wilson is +235, while 2024 MVP runner-up Napheesa Collier checks AT +400 after the opening ceremony launcher of +565.

Clark’s rise to the highest position is partly due to the huge gambling effect behind her: Several major sports betting reports report that at least 50% of her tickets support her MVP campaigns, and a lot of bigger money is being purchased, with the highest point of ESPN betting at 77.7% of the MVP handles accounting for IOWA HANDA HANE SHAIL BANKE SABLE SABLE SABLE SABLE BANGE SANE BANGE BANDE SABLE SABLE BANDE BANKE SANDE BANKE SABLE BANDE BANDE BANDE BANGIES.

It was the climax of years of enthusiastic fan support, and sports betting has gotten used to and is ready for it.

"The thing about Clark is that she spends a lot of money no matter what benefits we give her," DraftKings Sportsbook Director Johnny Avello told ESPN. "She is not some big underdogs, she has very low odds, so I don't think we're going to get hurt too badly (if she ends up winning)."

Avello acknowledged that as the season progresses, Clark responsibilities for sports betting may increase and the pot grows bigger. He and other bookmakers are more concerned that the risk of a fever is growing, and Adrian Horton, director of North American sports trade at ESPN BET, had previously called them "the greatest responsibility" of the book.

After a major offseason in Indiana, its rise allowed major players such as Dewanna Bonner and Natasha Howard to help Clark's MVP case as well.

“A'ja Wilson’s team won a lot of games instead of fever and Clark, so she got the MVP. I think it will be relatively close in the standings this year, which helps Clark’s case,” Caesars Sports professional basketball leader David David Lieberman told ESPN. “They are expected to be the top three teams in the league, which provides Clark with an excellent opportunity to snap up the MVP.”

Since Wilson won her first MVP in 2022, pre-season favorites have won awards every season. ESPN Research said Clark will get the second lowest odds in Wilson’s range of +100 last year.

Clark won the 2024 Rookie of the Year after entering the campaign with an astonishing -750 odds. 2025 favorites are much longer, but still odds, as Dallas Wings first-year player Bueckers shows -225 on ESPN BET.

That's all, at least the longest winner of three seasons after Clark's thrilling teammate Aliyah Boston entered the competition and delivered it at -250 in 2023. Additionally, it was the last three rookies of the year, and it was the first draft of Atlanta's dream Rhyne Dream's Rhyne Howard.

While this is not as enthusiastic as the support Clark always gets, in several sports betting, Bueckers get strong support, with both Caesars and Caesars and Draftkings reporting heavy operations to her.

“Bettingators know Buckers, so as the season starts and continues, they’re isolated,” Avilo said. “I think some of that money might change, but it’s all bueckers at that point.”

One player who can provide a real challenge for the Bueckers is Seattle Storm's second pick, Dominique Malonga, who showed an odds of +450 on ESPN BET. Malonga’s unique combination of scale, skills and professional experience in her native France makes her a fascinating flyer for many bets, as ESPN BET reports 44.4% of bets, and 70.9% of the handles support her rookie of the year.

"It's a wildcard," Lieberman said. "Obviously, we know what we're getting from the Bueckers. She'll score a lot of points, but maybe Malonga will come up with ridiculous rebound numbers, obstacles, something like that, bringing her closer to the Bueckers than people expected in the rookie of the year."

Lieberman clarified that while Chicago Sky star Angel Reese made the 2024 game competitive with excellent defensive metrics, he believes Clark's all-around performance has made her the pinnacle. How it will work between the first two candidates in 2025 remains to be seen.
