Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese will renew their competition in the WNBA season opener between Indiana Heat and the Chicago Sky.
Clark opens to ESPN to start her second season facing her rival.

Two players have fought each other on the court since the controversial fight in the 2023 NCAA Championship. Reese pointed at her ring finger during the game, causing anger and continued disputes among fans.
A year later, Clark's Iowa Hawkeyes avenged Reese's LSU Tigers, but tensions hit a whole new level when the players won professionals for the rookie WNBA season.

In 2024, Clark made a series of suspicious fouls in Reese’s sky, including Reese on June 16.
Clark also had an infamous illegal hip examination from Chicago Sky forward Chennedy Carter on June 1. Then, in late August, Chicago's Diamonds committed a harsh foul on Clark, who flew over the floor. The foul later escalated to a blatant violation, and DeShield later released screenshots of the hate message she received from the foul.

But Clark's team prevailed, with three of three of the four games between the two teams last year being one of the most popular WNBA games of the season.
The sky and fever met five times in 2025.
