Clark and Reese looked nervous on the court, but the fouls weren't as bad as they looked after the game.
"Don't let it not be like that," Clark said after 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. "It's just a good game in a basketball game. I'm not sure what the referees see to upgrade it, it's their discretion.
"It's foul on the free throw line. I've watched a lot of basketball in my life. That's exactly that. I'm not trying to do anything malicious. That's not my type of player."

In the play, Rees gets an offensive rebound, Clark appears to move to the referee, and Sky Center pushes a fever player away. Clark then deliberately fouled and hugged her to prevent layups.
ESPN broadcast debates whether Clark gently pushed Reese with his left arm after a foul, which could have led to Reese's angry reaction.
Without elaboration, Rees calls it Clark’s “basketball game,” both players have used in the past.
Reese struggled in his season debut, scoring 12 points from 14 on the court while also scoring a game-high 17 rebounds.
It was a brief moment, but given the history between Clark and Rees, it was another chapter in the competition that dated back to their college days. Due to the history between Clark and Reese, Fever and Sky are now competitors.

Last season, fever played three of four games, including several fouls that led to national debate.
Stephanie White won the first victory of the fever-head coach, and he also commented on Clark's foul.
"No one will have anything easy for us," White said. "We're going to be a tough defensive team. I think it's a clear ball, too."
Captain Roy Gulbeyan said: "Clark met the standard of blatant foul 1, which is to end, impact and follow the left hand extends the left hand to Rees' back, which is considered not a legal basketball game and therefore considered unnecessary contact."
“After the foul, there was a physical taunt technique in Boston, and Rees’ verbal technique offset it.”
