By bringing out more, boxing keeps missing

For a sport based on unpredictability, Boxing will certainly like to try script script scripts.

Ryan Garcia vs. Devin Haney 2 and Caleb Plant vs. Jermall Charlo are the battles fans want to see. They are the showdown that should be held when they have the chance to make a game. But instead, we got four songs on two cards in May, no one longed to watch, with two promised gold cans at the end of the rainbow that may never come now.

Turki Alalshikh's Ring magazine even hosted the troubles of Garcia vs. Rolando Romero and Haney vs. Jose Ramirez Double-Header at the historic Times Square intersection in New York to add interest to the show. The main two battles simply didn't offer themselves.

Last Saturday, Plant and Charlo were available for free on Amazon Prime Video (a widely visited service) when they shared a card at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas. It is an investment from the event partners to build a future battle, which they hope will pay dividends from paid income.

Both cards have clear narratives and logical paths. The goal is to maximize the potential of two national showdowns. However, both times crashed during the main activity time. Romero and Armando Resendiz each tore up their scripts and made shocking resentment with Garcia and the factory, respectively.

And now, boxing has lost two big paid competitions, rather than the two perfect accumulations the sport is trying to create, which is something its arsenal of main combat limited can’t lose.

Of course, this is not a new question. Boxing has long tried the concept of two co-chairs, sharing a card, and the two big favorites plans later face each other. Even in recent years, it went wrong.

In December 2023, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder finally signed a battle against each other, a battle for several years. All the couple had to do was to cross Otto Wallin and Joseph Parker respectively, but Parker showed fans what Wilder was actually doing and occupied their 12-round heavyweight matches.

The frustrated victory lost all interest in Joshua and Wilder's round, which was too late. Now, in June, Wilder will return against the lesser-known Tyrrell Herndon. He hopes to make a comeback and possibly rekindle any interest in the money-making Joshua showdown. But if it ends up happening, the battle will be a shadow that once could have been possible when all four heavyweight titles that once had all the heavyweight titles in the late 2010s. The promoters and broadcasters will almost certainly rely on the nostalgic element of the battle, fully knowing that the In-ring Action will not deliver the way fans are sold – just like Netflix and the Most Valuable Promotion, before fighting Jake Paul, Netflix and the Most Valuable Promotion promoted a 30-second clip from 58-year-old Mike Tyson, 58.

The competition between plants and Charlotte dates back to the weighing of Terence Crawford vs. Errol Spence Jr. in July 2023, where the plants were photographed, where they were photographed, where they were photographed. The factory claimed that Charlotte disrespected his wife and grabbed him with his beard.

Plant vs. Charlo's attractions are a totally a major attraction - a bad blood battle between the former world champion in a planned Sol "Canelo" Alvarez against the spectacle of Terence Crawford. With the 32-year-old factory and 35-year-old Charlo, the clock has fallen on the windows in the sport.

However, event organizers chose not to directly participate in the big battle, perhaps seeing Charlotte’s prolonged time as a blockbuster conflict was not ideal. They both got the adjustment round.

Charlo's well-documented struggles, the struggles outside the ring, the lingering inactivity brings people together and makes people feel frustrated. But surprisingly, Charlo lost the round of warm-up – that was the plant. Perhaps the warning sign is also obvious. In battles with Alvarez and David Benavidez, the plants faded in the battle and were injured by the unconquered Trevor McCumby in the latest round last September.

The factory entered the Resendiz battle with the rematch terms, so we can see a second meeting between the two. In addition, Resendiz can replace Plant's position in the battle of Charlotte. But no matter what the next step, we won't fight the plants and Charlottes.

As far as Garcia and Hanni are concerned, boxing loses to pickling, not even needed. The pileup was crazy when Garcia and Haney competed against them in April 2024 when they first competed for the WBC Super Lightweight Championship, with Garcia documenting herself smoking marijuana and drinking in a late night live stream, leading to the game.

Serious questions about whether Garcia should be on board first. He weighed more than three pounds during the game and seemed to have taken a beer bottle as he tilted the scales 24 hours before the fight at the ceremony. But Garcia proved at least temporarily that the skeptics were wrong. He beat Haney's three in a huge frustration and offered another dramatic night for the sport.

A few days after the fight, news came out that Garcia had drug tests on the banned substance Ostarine, and his victory against Haney would turn into uncompetitive. To increase the fuel of the fire, Haney proposed legal procedures against Garcia because of the substances that enhance performance in his system.

Competition is already at a boiling point, and boxing should be hit when the iron is very hot.

But greed took over. Thinking that combat may be a force a little big. By bringing out a little more, boxing keeps missing this moment, and ultimately much less.
