While one might not immediately associate high fashion with eBay, the Metropolitan Gala reminds us that the two can actually go hand in hand seamlessly. From cockroaches to Emma Chamberlain, see 2025 attendees pairing their themed look with pre-invited jewelry and accessories.

“I’m with Burberry, but all my accessories are sourced on eBay,” the star’s designer said. “I have an amazing Cartier music and my brooch is Tiffany…eBay is a place to find treasure.”

The self-proclaimed "obsessed eBay shopper" isn't the only famous faces that have stock of e-commerce websites on the blue carpet. Chamberlain paired her Currycis ensemble with e-retailer jewelry: “I’ve been shopping for years (), and it’s always a vintage store dream,” Fashion.

At last year’s Metropolitan Gala, Madelyn Cline wore an eBay’s Tommy Hilfiger clutch, and the designer upgraded from eBay with fabric from the actress’s gown as well as two tennis necklaces and fallen earrings. Red carpet host La La Anthony also wore vintage accessories from online retailers.

As the official sponsor of the star-studded fundraiser since 2024, eBay will certainly know its existence, but there are more luxury resale locations and online consignment stores that offer authenticated, pre-identified pre-owned designers at a fraction of the retail price. Favorites include Fashionphile, Walmart's Rebag, Luxury Closet, FWRD Renewal and Realreal, in addition to pre-exquisite exquisite jewelry from Bloomingdale and Farfetch.
