Bubba Wallace throws shadow at William Byron

Bubba Wallace threw a shadow at William Byron and then initially appeared on Athlon Sports.

Bubba Wallace started a strong performance in the 2025 NASCAR Cup series, recording four top 10s in the first 10 games of the season, including a pair of top five games and third in Homestead-Miami and Martinsville. While the other six games ended in Game 19 or worse, Team 23 hardly ran like the 20th car. Stay away from it, which is reflected in the current playoff position.

But that month happened, and it was ugly.

The 31-year-old stood out on the performance cliff, more specifically his end in the three-point game between Texas, Kansas and Charlotte. He didn't. Not even once. All DNFs.

Interestingly, although these negative numbers have sore drivers and his attitudes in the past (through his own admission), they have not had the same effect this year.

This is what fatherhood will do to you.

Wallace, now the son's father, Becks, is seen from a very different perspective, racing in Nascar is like any first-time parent. Racing is no longer the top priority.

But don't misunderstand attitude change, because one desires and passions to win. It still exists, after the last three games he desperately tried to turn things around, 1) get the finish line, 2) get the highest expectations of the 23XI Racing team, which has won a win throughout the first half of the regular season, including a pair of stage wins, which shows that he is one of the top 10 teams, well above one of the playoff racing lines in the win.

Wallace snatched the DNF game in Nashville on Sunday with a strong sixth place, even more impressive as it included overcoming setbacks in the stage and speeding penalty with self-fouls.

After the race, the 23XI race driver visited Prime Video NASCAR crew and talked about his day, which included throwing some shadows at William Byron.

"The way it started with a sixth place start in June," he said in the top ten in more than a month. "I went all out to keep Willy B there. I thought he would give it like I did last week. But I tried."

"Oh, that's rough," Carl Edwards said.

Interestingly, the joke caused a more excited tone soon after, when the conversation was transferred to the son.

“That’s the biggest support system,” he paused. "He's been eight months old. He doesn't know what's going on, but he's excited every time he sees me." The driver said, waving back tears, waving in his eyes.
"Oh man, man, it's great to hear my dad share," Edwards said. "Thank you for sharing with us."

It was a wonderful moment between the Hall of Fame and the driver, and from now on, it was a young son who could watch it on live TV and, above all, how much his father loved him. Any feeling that parents really appreciate.
