
J-Hope officially embarks on his first solo world tour.
The 30-year-old rapper, a member of K-pop supergroup BTS, will hit 15 cities, including six stops in North America, on the "Hope on the Stage Tour" hosted by Hybe, parent company of BTS's BigHit label Music, announced Tuesday.
After a three-day tour in Seoul, J-Hope (real name Jung Hoseok) will head to the United States for the North American leg of the tour. He will spend two nights at New York's Barclays Center starting March 13 before traveling to Chicago, Mexico City, San Antonio and Oakland.
The rapper will wrap up his North American tour at BMO Arena in Los Angeles. The final in Los Angeles will be historic, as the concert marks the first time a Korean solo artist has performed in a U.S. stadium. The artist, known as BTS's main dancer, will travel from the United States to the Philippines, Singapore and more countries in Asia.
All three nights of J-Hope’s Seoul leg will be available for fans to live stream on Hybe’s fan platform Weverse. It's unclear whether other stops on the tour will be live-streamed.
This tour marks J-Hope's first tour as a solo artist. this jack in the box The rapper is no stranger to solo performances, however, having headlined Lollapalooza's flagship Chicago music festival in 2022. He made history by becoming the first Korean artist to headline a major U.S. music festival with a jaw-dropping performance. His BTS member Suga (real name Yoongi Min) embarked on his own world tour "Suga Agust D Tour" (Agust D is the rapper's solo self) before enlisting in the army in 2023.
In October 2022, J-Hope and his band members RM, Jin, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkook held a large free concert called "Yet to Come" in Busan, South Korea. The concert, which supported the South Korean city's bid to host the 2030 World Expo, attracted a large number of ARMYs (the name of BTS's loyal fan base) from around the world.
Days after the show, BigHit Music announced that all seven members would continue their military service plans, saying it was "perfect timing" and the band's members were honored to serve. Jin, the eldest member of the group, retired from the military in June 2024, and J-Hope joined him in October 2024. BTS is expected to reunite as a complete group after all seven members retire this year.
Audiences with official ARMY fan club memberships will have early access to purchase tickets on January 22nd, with general sales scheduled for January 23rd. Due to the ongoing wildfires, tickets for the Los Angeles stop will be announced at a later date.
