Brave option jarred kelenic to minor leagues and bring back Eddie Rosario

The Atlanta Braves chose outfielder Jarrenic to bring Kelenic to Triple A Gwinnett on Monday and signed free agent Eddie Rosario to fill his place in the active roster.

Kelenic has been a controversial subject recently after he thought it was not running hard on the home run flying ball in the April 19 game. The ball hit the top of the right field wall and when he was easy to be safe, Karen Nick threw it at the second base.

Brave manager Brian Snitker didn't do anything for his efforts from the game, which caused the 2023 National League MVPRonald Acuña Jr. Note that he posted on social media “If it were me, they would take me away.”

Acuña's post was later deleted. However, many saw it, which caught Snetke's attention because of his implications in dealing with similar situations with Acuña, especially when it came out in 2019 as he didn't run out of what he thought was a home run and settled in a single situation.

However, Kelenic has struggled this season with a .531 operation, two home runs and two doubles hits, hitting the ball in 65 sets. Starting in 2024, he continued his performance with a .679 OPS, 15 home runs and 45 RBI.

After the New York Mets became a first-round draft pick in 2018, Karen Nick was once considered one of the highest prospects in Major League Baseball (6th overall). He traded the Seattle Mariners as part of the Robinson Cano deal, who failed to meet expectations in three seasons and compiled a .204 batting average and .656 OPS with 32 home runs and 109 RBIs. Before the 2024 season, Kelenic was traded to the Braves.

Bringing Rosario back should be a popular move for Braves fans, remembering his three seasons, during which he won the NLCS MVP in his 2021 campaign in Atlanta. Rosario had three home runs and nine in six games in the 2021 NLC game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Rosario signed with the Dodgers and started the season in the third quarter before being called as shohei ohtani entered the paternity test. But when Ohtani returns and selects free agents instead of returning to minors, he is assigned as a mission.

Rosario hit .339 with Oklahoma City, defeating 0.948 OPS in 69 sets. In two games against the Dodgers, Rosario became the designated hitter 1-4.

With Eli White (average.273, .897 OPS) and Alex Verdugo's outstanding performance (average.0.331, .841 OPS), Rosario is expected to be a backup player for the Braves and may be let go again when Acuña recovers from the injured roster.
