“As the head of the baseball business, it’s ultimately my responsibility to have a bad start to our season,” Mike Elias, executive vice president and general manager of Orioles, said in a press release. “Part of the responsibility is pursuing tough changes in order to set different courses for the future.
"I want to thank Brandon for his hard work, dedication and enthusiasm over the years and for returning the team to the playoffs and winning the AL East title. Many of his positive contributions to the organization and Baltimore will be preserved and we hope that he and his family will go well."
Hyde is the seventh year of Oriole manager. He was with the team during the rebuild year, with a 54-108 rate in 2019 and a 52-110 rate in 2021.

Orioles are 101-61 in 2023 and 91-71 in 2024.
The team lost in the 2023 AL Division series and last year's AL Wild Card series.
"Brandon Hyde is someone I know and admire, not only because of his extensive knowledge of baseball, but also because of his outstanding leadership as a manager," said David Rubenstein, Orioles' controlling owner. "I am deeply grateful for his significant achievements over the past six years, which greatly benefited the Orioles and the City of Baltimore.
"But, as baseball sometimes, change becomes necessary, and we think it's a moment. The Orioles do appreciate everything Brandon did during his tenure, and we hope he hasn't succeeded except on any path he's choosing the next choice in the baseball world."
