A second person has been charged with second-degree murder after a Super Bowl journalist died, and he held a major sporting event in New Orleans in early February.
Adan Manzano, 27, based in Kansas City, Missouri, was found dead in his room with Xanax in the system of the Comfort Suites Hotel in Kenner, Louisiana, on a mission in New Orleans to cover the Super Bowl. At the time, officials said his death was caused by the combined effect of Xanax and alcohol. They noted that he was found "on the pillow facing downwards, with no vividness on his nose and mouth."
Two days after the discovery of Manzano's body, police were arrested and charged with 45-year-old Danette Colbert. Colbert was nicknamed "Borbon Street Scammer" on social media after she filed several charges of fugitives and fraud and involved robbery charges related to his death.
Colbert is also charged with second-degree murder. Her alleged accomplice, Rickey White, was also arrested for alleged simple robbery and several counts of fraud.

The Kenner Police Department announced Monday that White is now facing second-degree murder in connection with Manzano's death.
Police did not explain why the second-degree murder was added, but said it was because detectives "relatively working to reveal the details of the incident that led to Mr. Manzano's tragic death."
Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley previously detailed the incidents that led to Manzano's death.
"They met French Quarter, About the early morning. They returned to the hotel in Kenna at around 4:30 am on February 5, when we did have surveillance videos in the hotel lobby showing them entering the (Manzano) room around that time. ” Conley said.

Danelte Colbert, 45, described it as a "professional offender" and faced four counts of offenses, two counts of traffic accident violations, one count of "robbery," one count of aggravated device fraud, one count of aggravated device fraud, one illegal transfer, one count of bank fraud, one count of computer fraud and one count of computers and Robbery. “Then (Colbert) came out, ran to the store, came back about 30 minutes later, and within 10 or 15 minutes, she left the room. He never saw it on any videos except when he entered the room.
While detectives were dealing with his hotel room, one of Manzano’s credit cards was missing, resulting in their search warrants for their credit card history and bringing law enforcement officers to Colbert.
Colbert is associated with other suspected drugs and robberies in New Orleans and Las Vegas and may be linked to the death of another person in New Orleans.

"We suspect the investigation will lead to her being involved in another death case in New Orleans City in December," Conley said. "We are working with (New Orleans Police Department). We are working with the State Police and the Attorney General's Office to get as much information as possible because we draw any conclusions because in such a situation you have to do an investigation and you can't just speculate."
