Trump covers up the Supreme Court as the dominance season begins

Early June marks the beginning of the Supreme Court’s month-long domination season, with the next scheduled ruling day taking place Thursday. But if it feels like the Supreme Court has fallen into trade-offs in several big cases, it's because it has.

Since January, the court has released some descriptions in 11 emergency cases related to the Trump administration, some of which call the "shadow case." For example, the Justice has allowed President Donald Trump to ban trans people from taking effect in the military and has led the government to attempt to use the Alien Enemy Act to expel alleged members of the Venezuelan gang.

At the same time, compared with previous years, the number of cases issued is relatively small. Some of the bigger decisions to note include challenges to Tennessee law that prohibits gender transition care for minors and Texas’ efforts to limit access to porn sites.

Shadow cases not only change the way the Supreme Court works. It also raises concerns about court transparency and process. Read the full story here.
