"Book", "estranei" premiered at the Italian Global Series Festival

The crime drama "Bookish" directed by Cosimo Alemà and "Estranei" will premiere on the inaugural edition of the Italian Global Series. The IGSF, led by Art Director Marco Spagnoli, will be held in Rimini and Riccione, Italy from June 21 to 28.

Gatiss is the executive producer, creator and lead actor of "The Book". The six-episode limited series, held in London in 1946, was produced by Eagle Eye Drama for UKTV and PBS, is in partnership with Happy Duck Films and is powered by a tax shelter in Belgium. Beta Film has global distribution rights in all seasons, while PBS distributions have North American rights.

The show is centered on a bookstore in London’s Archangel Lane and named after its quirky but whip boss (Gatiss). A former military spy turned into a maverick detective, relishing books, helping police solve their most complex murders.

He lives happily with his fanatical, vigorous wife Trottie (Polly Walker), who owns the wallpaper store next door. Friends in childhood had a deep bond of love and respect, but theirs was a mutually convenient "lavender marriage". Because homosexuality is illegal, because the book is a homosexual.

Despite this, his lifelong love was betrayed and died in the war, but was filled with happiness at home and saddened happily at home.

When Jack (Conner Finch) is a young man who used to be a former criminal, sent to work at a bookstore, books and Trottie welcomes him into the family with open arms. But soon after, Jack began to suspect that his appointment was just random. Could their past be inseparable?

Gatiss attended the IGSF, which was the world premiere of "Books" on June 24, and will also showcase the TV screenwriter masterclass.

The Italian series "Estranei" is an eight-episode drama produced by Eagle original content, Rai Fiction and Raicom, Stars Elena Radonicich, Kelum Giordano, Ricky Memphis, Marco Cocci, Giulio Scarpati and Isabella Ferrari. It will also premiere worldwide on June 24.

The series was held in a small town in northern Italy, where one of Europe's largest Sikh communities lives in harmony with the local population. But the disappearance of two young lovers - Camilla and Manraj, the seemingly distant world of modern Romeo and Juliet - shakes this fragile balance, revealing a series of death, competition and self-evident truths.

Investigating the case and all the unexpected twists and turns is a talented local law enforcement officer Laura Macchi (Elena Radonicich), who returns home to take care of her elderly father, the mayor of the town. To maintain a delicate harmony between the two communities (her father, a balance of dedication over time - Laura will find herself digging out a vague past that reveals disturbing secrets that hint at the entire town.

IGSF is the updated avatar of romfiction Fest, which lasts for 10 years from 2007 to 2016 each year. In addition to screenings, masterclasses and fan events with Italian and international talent, the new series will be presented through castings and creativity that will be attended by the public audience.

The full festival lineup will be on display at the Cannes Film Festival on May 18.
