President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the Boeing 747 provided by Katar to the United States will be provided to the U.S. Department of Defense and answered questions about the legality of accepting gifts of foreign power.
The Qatar royal family has offered to donate a giant jet worth $400 million that could be used as Air Force One.
The White House opposes criticism of Trump, saying that any gift of foreign power always complies with all laws in full.

"The Boeing 747 was given to the US Air Force/Defense, not me!" Trump wrote his truth about the social platform in the middle of a visit to Saudi Arabia. "This is a gift from a country in Qatar, and we have been successfully defending it for many years. Our government will be used as a temporary air force until an era like our New Boeings (which didn't arrive very late after delivery).
Some Democrats have called for a moral investigation into gifts.

"I wrote that President Donald Trump is ready to accept reports of the Qatar administration's luxury aircraft (Boeing 747-8). The aircraft, described as a "palace in the sky" will be described as President Trump's official use as the Air Force, then for private use, then for private use."
Trump questioned why taxpayers should pay for the plane when they get a taxpayer for free in the United States.
"Instead, this huge saving will be spent in making America great again!" Trump wrote. "Only one fool would not accept this gift on behalf of our country. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
Trump reportedly toured the plane in February on the apron at West Palm Beach Airport in Florida.

The gift was reportedly linked to legal reviews as the White House lawyer's office and the Justice Department reviewed the president's legitimacy and accepted expensive gifts from abroad.
The current Air Force fleet includes two aircraft, and Trump awarded Boeing a $3.9 billion contract during his first term to build two new jets. However, the construction of the jet is not expected to be completed until 2029.
