Devin Lee Harjes, who died in New York on Tuesday, May 27, portrayed Jack Dempsey in "The Boardwalk Empire." He is 41 years old.

Haggis died of cancer complications at Sinai Shanxi Hospital in New York. He was diagnosed with cancer in the winter.

The award-winning actor made his debut in 2011 through the prestigious HBO series. He starred with Steve Buscemi, Michael Kenneth Williams, Michael Pitt and Richard Harrow.

"He is a firm artist who has never held any roles," his representative David Williams told Fox News Digital.

"As a man, he is generous, kind, understanding and dedicated to his family and friends, a great horse rider, with magic with all animals. He is in the back country of the Rockies, the plains of West Texas or the middle of the Hell's Kitchen. He will be missed."

Harjes recently portrayed Pete Baylor in the TV series "The List".

Born in Lubbock, Texas, Harjes studied at college and started his career at the Dallas-Fort Theatre before chasing the show in New York City.

Harjes starred in The Forest Is Red with the shackles of several short films, where he won Best Actor at the Torentino International Film Festival in Italy.

He earned praise for his role in the 2012 adult film Boyz in Summer, before working in "Blue Blood" before returning to the short film.

Harjes also appeared in the "Gotham" TV series in addition to "Daredevil" and "Elementary School".

The actor worked with Nicholas Hoult and Kevin Spacey in the 2017 film Rebel in the Rye, based on the life of "Ryer Catcher" writer JD Salinger.

"Beyond the performance, Devin is a dedicated martial arts student, a regular at the gym - he often jokes that it's safer than being kicked in the face by a horse," his obsess said.

His final role is portraying Pete Baylor in the 2021 "Obvious" episode. (NBC)
