Blake Lively's attorney is fighting back the claims of Justin Baldoni's attorney Bryan Freedman, that a member of Lively's legal team attempted to blackmail Taylor Swift to issue a statement of support for the "Simple Benefit" star.
According to Freedman's letter, to the court and to judge Lewis J.
Freedman's allegations are not possible independently verified because it is based solely on information from "information from sources that are likely to have reliable information." There are no other sources in Friedman’s documents that support the claim.
In a statement shared with it typeGottlieb lashed out the allegations as “absolutely wrong” and “the source of coward is anonymous source and is completely unrealistic.”
"That's what we're expecting from Wayfarer's lawyers who don't seem to like shooting first, have no evidence, and don't care about the people they're hurting in the process," Gottlieb said. "We will immediately file a motion with the court to keep these lawyers responsible for their misconduct here."
Lively's camp continued to submit a stern letter to Judge Liman asking Friedman's charges to hit the record.
"On behalf of our client, Blake Lively, we are pleased to sign and file the letter with Mr. Bryan Freedman and filed the letter earlier today," the letter read. "The letter was not supported by any form of evidence, let alone anything oathed, falsely accusing Ms. Lively and her attorneys, based on anonymous sources, of 'witness tampering and evidence deception of evidence."
The letter continues: "There should be no response to anonymous, unfounded allegations without any supporting evidence. It is worth stating. However, every charge in the Friedman letter is unambiguously and clearly proved wrong. As anything legally matters, Friedman's letter is not a good thing for purpose.
This back and forth stems from Swift’s motion at Venable LLP camp to revoke the subpoena to create a document, which was provided on May 9. The subpoena was related to a defamation lawsuit filed in January by Baldoni. The lawsuit contains text between Lively and Baldoni, where Lively appears to refer to Swift as "one of her dragons." After the subpoena broke, Swift's representatives denied any involvement in Lively and Baldoni's film "End With Us" and the lawsuit between them was hampered from it.
"Taylor Swift never stepped onto the collection of this film, she was not involved in any actors or creative decisions, she did not rate the film, she never saw editing or recording any notes on the film, she didn't even see "End with Us" until the weeks after the public release, she traveled around the world in 2023 and 2024 on historic trips," the statement read.
