Some of music's biggest stars will join forces at a FireAid benefit concert later this month to raise funds for the victims of the Los Angeles fires. On Thursday, FireAid's promoters announced performers including Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Green Day, Katy Perry, Stevie Nicks and Jelly Roll to voice the show.
The one-night event will also feature Gwen Stefani, Pink, Joni Mitchell, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rod Rod Stewart, Sting, Tate McRae and Dave Matthews, who collaborated with John Mayer for the first time, performed. Additional artists and special guests will be announced in the coming days. Tickets will go on sale on Ticketmaster on January 22nd at noon PST.
Music industry mogul Irving Azoff co-produced the concert with Live Nation and AEG Presents. The Eagles, Azoff's longtime management client, announced Wednesday that they would donate $2.5 million to the concert.
The event will take place at the adjacent Kia Forum and Inglewood Intuit Dome at 6 p.m. and will be available at select AMC Theatres, iHeartRadio, Spotify, Apple Music, Netflix, Paramount+, Prime Video, Max, SiriusXM, SoundCloud, Veeps and International broadcast on YouTube. American Express, Intuit and UBS are among the show's sponsors.
The broadcast will inspire viewers across platforms to donate to aid wildfire victims. iHeartRadio will broadcast the show live to more than 860 radio stations across the United States.
FireAid will air just days before the Grammy Awards on February 2 at Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles. The Recording Academy announced Wednesday that it will scale back its event lineup in the week leading up to the awards in order to focus on the show's fundraising efforts. Several other organizations are also hosting small benefit concerts to aid wildfire victims.
The Palisades and Eaton fires have destroyed thousands of homes, killed at least 25 people and forced more than 150,000 residents to evacuate their homes.
Among the thousands of people who lost their homes were musician Jhené Aiko, longtime SZA producer ThankGod4Cody, Dawes' Griffin Goldsmith and former bassist Wylie Gelber. Beyoncé and Solange's mother Tina Knowles shares her Malibu bungalow was destroyed in Palisades fire. "That was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my place of sacred joy. No more!! God bless all the brave men and women in our fire department who risk their lives in dangerous conditions," she Wrote on Instagram.
