Jordon Hudson, 24, caught national attention on Tuesday after an awkward interview with her boyfriend, 73, former NFL coach Bill Belichick.
Hudson posted a screenshot of an email sent on April 10. In an email, Belichick was frustrated with media tours in his memoir The Art of Victory: Lessons in My Life, and presented an irrelevant news article in the book highlighting a professional error he mentioned in the book.
"I don't think it's great, but it might hype the book, which is obviously the subject that continues here," Berichick wrote. "It's about what I expect from the media."
"This book is about how I work and the lessons learned in and around the NFL, it's not a bathroom book that highlights my mistakes," he added. "I hope we can be on the same page that actually promotes the book."
Belichick's emails do not specify highlighted professional errors or news publications.
"The full statement will be released later today," Hudson said in the seven-word caption that accompanied the post, with more than 91,000 followers on Instagram, where she described herself as the daughter of a Maine fisherman and former college cheerleader.
Belichick's book tour apparently includes an interview with "CBS Sunday Morning" which aired on Sunday. In the interview, CBS news reporter Tony Dokoupil asked Belichick how he met Hudson. Hudson, who was sitting outside the camera, immediately interrupted: "We're not talking about this."
He bought it and replied, "Okay?"
"No," Hudson said.
The interview soon spread online, sparking speculation about the origins of the relationship and the nature of Hudson's role in Berichick's career. Dokoupil told the audience in a voiceover track that “Jordan has been around for our interview.” He quotes Belichick’s memoir describing Hudson’s “Idea Mill and Creative Muse.”
Dokoupil also asked Belichick about photos of the couple on Instagram, including an October post with his figure in his gear and her clothes that looked like a mermaid. In response, the famous taciturn belichick said: "I'm on some social media platforms, but honestly, I don't follow them."
CBS News did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday.
NBC Sports reported that Hudson played a "very active role" in Belichick's career and is "playing a high level of influence."
Belichick is known for leading the New England Patriots to six Super Bowl titles. He left the NFL after the 2023 season and late last year he signed a deal to coach the University of North Carolina’s football team. A spokesperson for the UNC team did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
