Bill Belichick said Tuesday that his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, had “nothing to do” with North Carolina football plans.
The 73-year-old coach appeared on ESPN's "SportsCenter" and was asked about his relationship with Hudson, 24, and if there were any potential impacts when he began his first season as college football head coach.
"It's really one side," Belishik said. "It's a personal relationship and she has nothing to do with UNC football. I'm so happy to be back in the coaching meeting and prepare for June and August. June will be a big recruiting month for us, and then August we'll start preparing for the season."

Berichick was then asked if his relationship with young Hudson had a discussion with his players - sure to see a discussion about both on social media - and the long-time Patriots coach skillfully deflected.
“Great, we want to make the players the best players they can do and provide them with the best opportunities on the court and on the occasion,” Berichick said.
Belichick and Hudson's relationship has been in North Carolina in recent weeks, especially since Hudson interrupted his popularity with Belichick when he spoke to CBS. Hudson stepped in and said Berichick would not answer a question about how the two met in an interview with "CBS Sunday Morning."
According to the TMZ report after TMZ aired, this is not the only time Hudson chatted in the interview. The pair said they met on a flight to Palm Beach in 2021, and in the days following the interview, Belichick confirmed the two had a "personal and professional relationship" and that she was "just doing the work to make sure the interview stayed on track."
She attended the Miss Maine beauty pageant with Belichick last weekend. The game began with North Carolina saying in a statement that Hudson was still welcomed by reports that she was banned at the football facility.

Belichick's answer on Tuesday also contradicted what his school email account revealed earlier this spring. In an email to UNC's deputy athletic director, a few days after he officially introduced him in North Carolina, Belichick wrote: "I include Jordon in this email so she can also keep up with our posts. Can you include her on anything you gave me?"
Hudson also directed the school how to announce Belichick's son Steve as the team's new defensive coordinator when he was hired in March.
"It's easy to misunderstand that Steve just benefited from nepotism, but it wasn't the case," Hudson wrote. "Steve was lucky to learn defensive football strategy from the 'maximum defensive mind' of all time. He has always won his place due to performance and output."
Hudson also asked North Carolina to block or hide social media information on the school’s pages, which are “slanderous comments” about their relationship.
