Bill Belichick coaches in North Carolina - "I learn every day"

North Carolina coach Bill Belichick discussed the most he learned from his transition from the NFL to his transition from the NFL in a sit-down interview Friday with Good Morning America, yes.

The six-time Super Bowl champion appeared on the show to promote his new book The Art of Winning, and he said he has learned to "every day" since becoming North Carolina's head coach last December -- his first college head coaching job.

“Whether it’s recruiting, college competitions, rules, titles, some strategies and bringing the team together, I’m going to go back to the college environment in a college environment,” Belichick said. “I learn every day.”

He added that he didn't have to change his coaching style, saying his players were "so eager. They were hungry. They had dreams. They wanted to be good. I wanted to help them do good things, I wanted to help them make them great in a good team. They were very enthusiastic. They have made a lot of progress. We are going a long way.

Berichick was also asked about all the public attention of his relationship with Hudson, who was not interviewed. Last week, reports were reported that Hudson was banned from using UNC football facilities, which highlighted the facility. UNC sports director Bubba Cunningham told ESPN earlier this week that there has never been any effort to keep Hudson away from North Carolina.

"She's been great throughout the process and she's very helpful to me," Berichick said. "She's in the business that I've had in my life that has nothing to do with North Carolina, so I can focus on football, which is really what I want to do. I admit her in the book. She's very helpful for it, and on the tribute page, she gives the book perspective in some kind of business aspect. Sometimes I get some football skills and she does a great job there, keeps up a good job there.''

When asked what Hudson means to him, Belichick said: "We have a good personal relationship, I'm not talking about personal relationships."

As a follow-up, Berichik was asked if he was happy. He gave the answer to a word: "Yes."

The relationship between Belichick, 73, and Hudson, 24, has attracted widespread attention. However, her involvement in helping business interests other than him was also under scrutiny. She interrupted Berichick's interview with CBS last month, forcing coaches and networks to respond.

North Carolina recently hired veteran Chicago Public Relations Director Brandon Faber to help Belichick. He attended the ACC Spring Conference with Belichick earlier this week at the ACC Spring Conference in Amelia Island, Florida, and accompanied him to New York for an interview with the GMA.
