
Shortly after taking the stage at the 2025 BMI Pop Awards, Benson Boone spent some time between performing hits like “Slow” and “Beautiful Things” thanks to his co-author Jack Lafrantz for helping bring his musical vision to life.
"No of these songs you hear will hear," Boone said, who also won two awards for the aforementioned hits. “Producer, writer and I’m going to be in the room mean a lot to me because it really makes my work interesting, especially when I can connect with and get to know these people and be friends with these people, which means a lot to me. Taylor Swift, who was not in the conference, was awarded Songwriter of the Year for the second consecutive year. She wrote seven best-performing hits, including “Don’t blame me,” “Now we don’t speak,” and “Who is afraid of me?
Teddy's "Lose Control" swim won the song of the year, written by Julian Bunetta, Mikky Ekko and Marco's "Infamous" Rodriguez. Elsewhere, Universal Music Publishing Group has been crowned the publisher of the year, representing 28 of the famous songs including Doja Cat's "Agora Hills" and Eminem's "Houdini."
Many other hits were highlighted throughout the evening, including Sza's "Saturn", Tate McRae's "Greed", Tyla's "Water", Jack Harlow, Jack Harlow's "Love Me", Sophie Ellis-Bextor's "Sophie ellis-bextor's Murder on the Dance Floor", dua lipa lipa'houdini''houdini''houdini''houdini''houdini'''houdini'''houdini'''' Sabrina Carpenter's "Feathers" and more. Attendees in the crowd included Bonnie McKee, JP Saxe, Lisa Loeb, Sean Momberger, d'Mile, John Ryan, Gregory Hein, Verse Simmonds, Ross Golan, Ross Golan, Gregg Alexander and Daneille Brisebois.
