Barcelona vs Real Madrid: Robert Lewandowski, Alejandro Balde
May 10, 2025, 08:20 AM

Robert Lewandowski, Alejandro Balde and Marc Casadó are all suitable for Sunday Classic (Live on ET on 10:15 on ESPN+), But Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said the trio will start on the bench against Real Madrid.

Lewandowski, who defeated Inter Milan in the Champions League late-stage substitute on Wednesday, suffered no adverse effects since after losing four games with a hamstring injury.

Balde beat Barça’s last seven games, including leg string problems, including hamstring problems, while Casadó has been eliminated since March with a knee injury.

Asked if Lewandowski or Barde could start the game at the Olympic Stadium, Frick said in a press conference: “As a beginner, I don’t think this moment is for them.”

“Ferran (Torres) and Gerard (Martín) from left back were excellent. It was really great when you see Gerard, his game in the Champions League semifinals.

"Casadó can also be used. But we have to take care of it. We have three league games in Madrid. We will be able to participate more in the second half tomorrow."

Barcelona has a chance to score 7 points against Madrid, with only 9 points left Classic Competitor.

However, Madrid's victory will move them in a little bit of Barcelona and reignite the title battle with a three-game match.

Flick said Barcelona recovered from European pain in the centre on Wednesday and focused entirely on a fourth win over Madrid this season, having improved them in Laliga, Copa del Rey Final and the Spanish Super Subject Final.

"After Milan's failure, everyone knew it wasn't easy after the game, but we did a great job."

“We talked about that and what we’re going to do in the next two weeks. We have four games to go. Of course, Crasico is tomorrow and it’s very important to show that we can do well again.

“Everyone knows that in Krasico, you have to be at the highest level. We want to stay active, see the intensity on the court and dominate as usual. We know that the real team is a great team, but we are at home and we have fans.

"Real will do everything to win like we do. I don't care about the table at the moment. We have to win. We want to win. This is our mindset, our attitude. That's how we will start the game. We focus on this game and nothing else."
