Barbra Streisand and Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney's duet album Unity

Barbara Streisand's upcoming album The Secret of Life: The Companion, Volume 2 is a collaborative effort to perform duets with Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, James Taylor, Sting, Hozier, Laufey, Sam Smith, Tim McGraw, Josh Groban, Seal and Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande.

It arrived at the store on June 27, but Streisand released her first single, "I've seen your face for the first time I've seen your face."

“I have always loved singing with talented artists,” Streisand said in a statement. "They inspired me in a unique and different way... and made our time in the studio so happy! My new album also has the opportunity to work and play with some of my old friends, record labels and new artists. Streisand and Dylan have never appeared together before. But a letter from Dylan to his friend Tony Glover surfaced in 2020 saying that “the lay lady lying down” was originally written for Streisand. In 2016, New York Times It was revealed that Dylan saved a letter from Streisand in 1978, thanked her for sending her flowers and suggested they record a song together.

"I was moved to find out that he saved a note from me," she wrote. New York Times. "This prompted me to go back to my archives and retrieve a letter I saved from him. I remember it, and first, he sent me flowers and a lovely note and asked if I wanted to sing with him. In return, I gave him notes in the archives, thanking him for the flowers and invitations.

It has taken 47 years, but the dream-bombing Dylan/Streisand collaboration in 1978 is in the form of a duet in the form of the thirties' popular standard "The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The" form. The Secret of Life: The Companion, Volume 2 It is produced by Walter Afanasieff and Peter Asher. It was recorded at Streisand scoring stage in Culver, California and Abbey Road Studios at the London Symphony Orchestra.
