"Bachelor" star Katie Thurston said she lost her memory in the cancer battle

"The Bachelor" Season 17 star Katie Thurston gives the reality of "uncut, original" of 34-year-old breast cancer treatment.

Thurston updated her followers in a June 1 video, saying she had just completed her second month of treatment. She also noted that her cancer treatment “technically continues forever.”

"After completing two months of medication, my hair came out in unnatural clumps - working hard," she said. "I lost my memory. That's great."

Thurston recalls having been experiencing a recent customs activity, which may refer to her trip back to Italy with her husband Jeff Arcuri. She explained that she was asked where she came from and she didn't remember it.

“But yes, cancer is————,” Thurston continued. “Sometimes, I thought, ‘Don’t feel sad for myself anymore. 'And then, I thought, "No, you can feel sorry for yourself.

In March, Thurston revealed in an Instagram video that her cancer spread to the liver. Now, she explained that she had to “major decisions about how to treat my liver.”

She has been thinking about radiation, ablation and tissue therapy, and she said she eventually chose to undergo Nyu Langone Health.

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, tissue therapy is a radiology department that uses ultrasound to treat liver tumors.

"Anyway, this is the day for cancer survivors nationwide, I'm still alive every day, I'm a survivor," she said with a smile in the June video.

Thurston added that she is trying different drugs to suppress hormones and help treat cancer, and if they don’t work, many people need to remove the ovaries.

"But the holidays are good. Now, I'm back in New York City and trying to live my best life as a cancer patient," she concluded.

The Bachelor’s alumni revealed her breast cancer diagnosis on an emotional Instagram on February 15. Her breast cancer had “no family history” and later shared on March 18 that she found a “painful” piece of tiny pieces in which she described “rubber, marble” in her breast. Initially, she ignored the “months” of lumps, thinking it was a result of PMS or exercise, but she eventually sent her to the doctor.

“Remind you that you can’t be ‘too young’ for breast cancer,” she captioned the March video.

On March 28, Thurston shared in another video update that she was told that breast cancer had spread to the liver, putting her in stage 4. She added that she was also classified as triple positive.

According to the MD Anderson Cancer Center, cancer identified as triple positive involves cancer cells grown using three different types of receptors. This is a subtype of HER2-positive breast cancer, which is considered the most treatable type of breast cancer.

"I know Stage 4 sounds horrible. But given that I'm a triple positive, the spots on my liver were small and discovered very early, I'm very optimistic about my results," she said in the video, she plans to start chemotherapy.

Thurston is also open to her fertility journey in cancer treatment, noting that she is freezing eggs so that she and Arcuri can try to have a baby.

“Now that I have the #Stage4BreastCancer, pregnancy will be a risk for me, especially when people with HR+ breast cancer (supply hormones),” she captioned the May 24 Instagram video during her IVF journey. “So, in the future, we will read #Surrogacy carefully in the hope of building our family.”
