Manchester United's hard work for signing Sport CP by signing Viktor Gyokeres has been steeper, according to a new report from Portugal.
According to Record (Today's paper edition, page 6), Atletico Madrid has made Gyokerers the highest transfer target this summer and can complete the deal.
Atleti's head coach Diego Simeone "telled the club's directors that he wanted the top forwards of green and white people in the past two seasons".
Madrid's clothing will have funds to pay for Ji Driver's transfer fee as they are eligible for the 2025/26 Champions League and have just signed a 10-year sponsorship agreement with Nike for €30 million a year.
"The most complicated thing is to convince Viktor, which is indeed the right step in a career that is obviously on the upward curve," the record explained.
"This is where the real deadlock is, because the Swedish international doesn't want to make hasty choices, that is, he needs time to breathe and only then can he decide with his entourage which path to take."
The record also summarizes other runners and riders in the big-country football transmission this summer, including Manchester United's name.
They noted: "With the arrival of Matheus Cunha, there is no Champions League football, and the chances of reuniting with Ruben Amorim are almost zero. But football is football..."
PSG is mentioned, but records say Luis Enrique is not entirely convinced that he needs to be 26. Also noted is the direction Arsenal is heading towards Benjamin Sesko.
The gunmen are discovering RB Leipzig is on the Slovenians, but if they hit the young man's brick wall, they will likely double the gyokeres.
Naples is also considered interested and is the only club in Italy that can meet the needs of sports salary.
In the case of the Serie A club, although the former Manchester United striker is 32 years old, Romelu Lukaku's center position seems unlikely to be transferred to the gyokeres.
That being said, the arena itself has made Julian Alvarez stand out in the role of center forward.
The record's statement that gyokeres will spend time weighing their choices this summer, which is likely to be correct. In turn, if Amorim's protégés remain their number one goal, this could put United in a strait in pursuit of other options.
