Americans across the country are taking stock of what they believe will be the legacy of President Joe Biden as he leaves office in just days.
Fox News Digital spoke with citizens across the country about how they think the one-term president will be remembered, and their opinions were mixed. Yet even some Biden fans who enjoy spending time in the Oval Office acknowledge that history may not be too kind to the 46th president.
"I feel very sad for Joe Biden," Maryland resident Bryan said during a visit to Washington, D.C., last week. "He served the country for nearly five decades, but his legacy — may be restored in the history books. -- but unfortunately, his legacy will be difficult because his legacy is largely about withdrawing troops from Afghanistan."
"But they made mistakes and people died," he added.

More than half of Americans say Biden will be viewed as below average or one of the worst presidents in U.S. history, according to a Marist national poll. The poll, released Wednesday, found more than a third of adults nationwide said Biden would be viewed as one of the worst presidents in U.S. history, while another 19% said he would be viewed as A below average president.
Twenty-eight percent of participants said Biden's legacy would be viewed as average, and 19% said he would be viewed as above average or one of the best presidents in U.S. history.
A USA Today/Suffolk University poll released on Tuesday showed that 44% of voters nationwide said history will judge Biden as a failed president, while another 27% said he will be viewed as a failed president. For a fair president.
A Gallup poll released on January 8 found that 54% of Americans said Biden will be remembered "Below average" (37%) or "poor" (17%). Meanwhile, 19% believe he will leave a positive legacy, with 6% saying he was "outstanding" and 13% saying he was "above average."

Fox News Digital also spoke with multiple Americans who are pleased with Biden's legacy. Bob, a Californian who is visiting Washington, described Biden's legacy as "great." He called Biden a "great human being, a great humanitarian" and a "great man," adding that the 46th president "struggles to do his best for the country."
"I think his heart has always been in the right place, and I think he's an advocate for the middle class," said Gregg, who is from Houston.
“I think overall, I’m happy with his work,” said Matt, who is from Virginia. He did mention that the president could do a better job handling border issues, but said, "Overall, I'm happy with the way he's running the country."
"I like him as a person and I wish him good luck," he added.
Creasey of Michigan praised Biden, saying: "He takes COVID-19 seriously, he does keep us safe and he does take control of the situation - with facts and mature guidance, bringing us into a good space. ”
Another Michigan resident, Nathan, described Biden's legacy as "equality." "No judgment, no difficulty," he said, adding that Biden's term would be marked by "America coming together."
Madeleine, of Houston, praised the president for withdrawing troops from Afghanistan, saying, "I know he got us out of this - for better or for worse, and I'm glad he did."
