Arsenal 27yo signs new contract

Gabriel Magalhães extended his stay in north London as Arsenal's move was to secure the most reliable centre-back in foreign interests.

"Arsenal is an amazing club and I'm honored to sign a new contract," Gabriel said. "I love this club, I love supporters, my teammates, I love this stadium. I'm very proud and thank you for all your support. We will continue to move forward."

Gabriel's absence is deeply felt by missing the last two months of the 2024-25 season due to injury. Arsenal worked hard to maintain defensive dominance without him, especially in the closing ceremony of the campaign. His preseason return is expected to be a major boost, and the club confirms that he is expected to be fully fit in 2025-26.

"I'm a young player here and after nearly five years, I'm so happy that I've learned a lot," Gabriel added. "I'm proud of myself, it's an amazing journey and I'm so happy to continue it. I hope I've won some trophys at this club because I love this club as well, and my family loves the club as well."

His aerial ability and expectations are a hallmark of his game, with only five goals from centre-backs this season. Internationally, he made his debut Brazil Since then, he has scored 14 blocks in 2021, scoring his first international goal in the World Cup qualifiers Venezuela October 2023.
