Aprio acquires SND partner

APRIO, a US-based business consulting firm and accounting firm, has acquired SND Partners, a San Francisco Bay Area accounting firm.

SND partners specialize in affordable housing tax credits, housing and urban development audits.

The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Founded in 1989, SND Partners was created in response to the Tax Reform Act of 1986 and has since provided audit and tax services to a diverse client base in the real estate and community development sectors.

The company has operations in Northern and Southern California, as well as Hawaii, serving for-profit and nonprofit organizations in both the real estate and community development sectors.

Richard Kopelman, CEO of APRIO, said: “Our combination with our SND partners reflects Aprio’s commitment to continue to expand in the market where our customers need us the most.

“The demand for these services has increased with California’s continued investment in affordable housing and new legislative requirements, so combined with SND partners we can expand our capabilities and bring greater value to this rapidly expanding market.

“Customers will benefit from a wider team, expanding service offerings, and tailor-made solutions. I am honored to welcome the SND partner team to APRIO.”

The acquisition brings three SND partners and nine professionals to Aprio's team.

The SND team will continue to operate from the Bay Area.

Aprio expects the acquisition will increase its presence in California by supplementing its existing offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Walnut Creek.

"Add to Aprio marks an exciting new chapter for SND partners," said Annette Spiteri, managing partner at SND partners.

“We are passionate about serving affordable housing customers, and APRIO’s investment in technology, people and processes will enhance our ability to help provide impactful solutions.”

"Affordable housing clients face increasing complexity - they need consultants who really understand the landscape," said Alison Fossyl, head of affordable housing at Aprio.

“By joining forces with SND partners, we are bringing customers greater insight, local knowledge and the power of the bench to support their growth in this high demand environment.”

The company's latest additions include JMS Advisory Group; Mangold Anker Phillips; Nardone Pridgeon and Co; KRD and Burkett & Beattie; cybersecurity firm SecurityBricks; Pontiff + Associates; and Elite Tax & Accounting.
