Angel Reese Details Guide by Shaquille O'Neal in Reebok Campaign

Angel Reese details the guidance Shaquille O'Neal originally appeared on Athlon Sports in the Reebok movement.

Angel Reese is not only the face of Reebok’s “very tough” sneaker sportiness—she also gets coaching for the game from the greatest big man of all time.

Reese, who teamed up with Reebok to launch a sneaker line for the engine, revealed that she has been in regular contact with the brand’s basketball president Shaquille O'Neal. She said his mentorship had a meaningful impact on her early WNBA career.

"He actually called me yesterday," Rees told dallashoopsjournal.com. “He was like, ‘I hope you don’t read the comments gently.’ I was like, “Of course not. ”

Not only is O'Neal providing encouragement—he also helped her game through film research and contextual advice.

"He told me, 'Just because you can get all the rebounds, take a moment to shoot.' "Then he took me through the movie clips - taking my chances to get the game better in the basket. ”

Reese, who averaged 9.2 points, 13.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game, said she didn't take the coach for granted.

"He's obviously one of the greatest scorers of all time," she said. "So put him in my corner, in my back pocket? That's big."

The collaboration is part of Reebok's wider basketball division, where O'Neal and Allen Iverson lead a new generation of athlete ambassadors, including Reese and Dallas Wings Guard Dijonai Carrington. Reese's "very tough" engine debuted on May 15 and featured her personal "AR" halo logo in recognition of her late grandmother.

“I don’t have a lot of (motivation) documentaries,” Reese said of Reebock’s Netflix movie. “But, just some of the things we’ve done creatively behind the scenes (like my shoes dropping) are part of the process.”

Although her role in the movie may be limited, Rees' presence in Reebok's comeback is central. She has O'Neal in her ears and she hopes to build more brands.

"You're going to continue to see more people wearing Reebok, i.e. men and women," she said. "We're just adding the work. That's all."
