'Andor' ending: creators explain the biggest twists

It's very rare - almost unheard of - you know exactly how the TV show will end before it even begins.

However Ando The conclusion is how showrunner Tony Gilroy returns for the 2022 series: The first scene to introduce the rebel spy Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) in the 2016 film Rogue One. Ando The conclusion is that Cassian will meet a source in Kafrene, the film shows that he has obtained valuable Intel in Death Star.

However, until late in the series, many other things that included the acclaimed Star Wars drama were a mystery, including the fates of Denise Gough, Bix (Adria Arjona) and Syril (Kyle Soller). Interestingly, the funny names of the first season (Kino Loy and Cassian's missing sister Kerri) didn't come back.

Gilroy has some details below Ando The series ending.

You have "What a painful ending" in the ending. Revelation of Bicks' pregnancy, Cassian has a son he never knew, and to me his fate actually made his fate a reality More It's miserable, a lot.

I agree. It does three things for me. It's exactly what you said - I think it makes his sacrifice even more painful. And I think for anyone who has an ongoing question about Bix leaving in Episode 9, it will explain it to anyone who is hesitant to buy the scene. Finally, finally, I desperately hope to end with a hopeful note. “Rebellion is built on hope” is not only a T-shirt, but a legitimate flame that many people need to see. So hopefully I can end up in an optimistic way because it's important to me.

If Bicks hadn't been pregnant secretly, would she leave Cassian and continue to fight her career?

I don't know the answer. I think she was pregnant when she left.

I like the line of “rebellion is built on hope”, like a modest hotel clerk, especially because now we know that the Cassians are much better than we know Rogue Onethat line doesn't sound like the kind of thing he came up with.

Embarrassing. My office is in my house and my son is a very large Star Wars fan. So he came one day and he said, "'Rebellion is based on hope'!!" I went, "What do you mean?" He said, "Well, who would say that?" I went, "It appears in rogue. "He said: "But where did Cassian get it?" "I'm leaving, "Isn't this from somewhere else (in the movie)?" "He said: "No, it comes from nowhere." "I thought, "Oh my goodness." I'd better find someone put it there. ”So my son really saved my ass.

Jump back, this is the amazing sequence of the Ghorman Holocaust. Can Sirill tend to join the rebellion in the last moment?

I always viewed him as a romantic and fantasy from the beginning, having this very affluent internal life. And I think a lot of times people go where they like and encourage them. In some cases, he may have taken a completely different path. I think you can see him on Ghorman like it. He was comfortable there. It undoubtedly attracted his sense of fashion and his pickiness. When the Holocaust happened, many things were subverted for him and removed. The amount of chaos that had just visited on his soul was almost incomprehensible. Then see through this dream state (Casian), see the people you've been chasing for years and then let them not even know who you are...I feel for all these characters, but I really have sympathy for Syril.

So my prediction for the ambitious Dedra is that she will be so successful that she will be “rewarded” by the Death Star position – which will lead to her invisible demise New Hope. What makes this fate right?

Well, we know she's going to fall. I mean, the whole ISB is about to end. If you think about it, if it was the CIA or any Intelligence Agency, that kind of violation of this violation and that disaster occurred at the same time, it would be a cleanliness of the house. So she will definitely fall. Then take her to Narkina 3 or Narkina 9 or where she is…I mean, it's too juicy to ignore.

Speaking of Imperial Prison, I've been expecting Andy Serkis' character Kino Loy pops up the rebel leader on Yavin IV or something. Have you ever considered getting him back, and do you have a fate?

Andy put down the microphone, man. What would I do better than we do? All it does is minimize that moment (Loy reveals that “I can’t swim” after the outbreak of Island Prison). I know a lot of people are talking about whether we have a way (bring him back). But I don't want to have that kind of accidental environment.

(Kino Loy) is like (Cassian)'s sister (he tried to find him in the series premiere). People wonder if we want to solve our sister. At the beginning, my sister was a deficit for me, which was even more interesting to me. For me, she is more valuable to me. As he ended up saying, “Maybe I should stop saving people.” He needs to go back and save people, become the savior, and forcing this to do so is the cause of this loophole in his life, and I really don’t want to fill that.

It's not the ending either: How is Monmosma's daughter's marriage?

((laugh) So you may see sometime in life when your child becomes more common than your parents. Parents get out of their parents’ traditions and then their kids are like, “No, I want to go back.” I think she lives a very comfortable country club life in Chandrila. I don't know how happy she would be, but that's who she is.

My favorite shot of the season is in the finale when the ISB Commander shoots the camera. We watched outside the door, the two commandos retreated, and the other raised his hand slightly. That's a beautiful visual storytelling.

(Michael Jenn) is a very good actor, yes.

Even though we got some great K-2SO scenes, I'm sure fans will wonder why he's not on the show more. He looks great. Is it a purely creative decision to let him come like he did, or is it a cost limit, or both?

(Limited) K-2SO comes from manufacturing experience rogueTo be honest. From the beginning, that was one of the most difficult parts of the original conversation - how long do I have to delay (K-2SO)? Because what can you do with him? I don't want people to go back pictures roguebut in that movie, we hid him in his place with two or three or four places - he had to stay on the boat or couldn't go somewhere. He is a very, very difficult device that can run through a story. It has great limitations to him. He is a very obvious, troublesome story gear. So I know intuitively how long I need to wait to do this.

(K-2SO) is great and he is fun. Tudick is hysterical and really great. We were like, “Okay, we’re going to (let him on the show), make us spectacular, let’s really do one thing from it.” That’s what we’re trying to do.

Do you put any scripts in the script that you don't have or can't end up doing?

Economically, things we can't do. Dan Gilroy wrote a very different episode for nine books, which is very different, and it's a very different introduction to K-2SO. But it's a complete standalone plot, just a real thriller that we can't afford what we have to reshape.

What do you hope Ando Change the way people watch Rogue One? I immediately re-watched it after I finished the filter.

how was it? I haven't done it yet.

It does work and matches a lot. From the moment he rolls into it, you will be scared of Cassian.

I don't want to do this before Junket. I mean, it's all romantic for everyone who thinks of a Cassian-Jyn Erso relationship, like my God, what about that? So I haven't seen it, but I may.
