K-2SO is really here.

Alan Tudyk Ando Season 2… Not yet (and when this story is yet to come, the K-2SO is great and gives you what you've been waiting for, promise).

Understandably, some fans are a little impatient with it. when Ando First announced as a prequel series for 2016 Rogue Onethe first thing that might pop up is Cassian Andor and his eight-foot-tall metal buddies roam the galaxy, conducting rebel alliance missions and carrying out various adventures - kind of like Mandalorianbut there is a sarcastic killer robot in the cockpit, not the cute Yoda.

Then Ando The show is very different from anyone’s expectations and is arguably much better, lacking K-2SO in the first half of the season and season two is bittersweet.

Obviously, the character is an expensive effect. Tudyk performed K-2SO through motion capture and the results were very realistic. When K-2SO encapsulates Cassian's ship later this season, like the photo above, his face and body are no different from real life.

But, according to creator Tony Gilroy, the biggest reason we don't see K-2SO is based on the story. Besides Gilroy's other ideas about Cassian's journey, there's your hero tag, and a rather compelling Empire robot that limits what he can do, especially when your hero is often in dangerous realms and tries not to get any attention.

“(Limited K-2SO) K-2SO comes from experience in manufacturing rogueHonestly,” Gilroy said, “From the beginning, that was one of the hardest parts of the original conversation – how long do I have to delay (K-2SO)? Because what can you do with him? I don't want people to go back pictures roguebut in that movie, we hid him in his place with two or three or four places - he had to stay on the boat or couldn't go somewhere. He is a very, very difficult device that can run through a story. It has great limitations to him. He is a very obvious, troublesome story gear. So, I know intuitively how long I have to wait to do this. ”

That said, Gilroy added: "(K-2SO) is great, he's fun. Tuddick is hysterical, it's really great. We're like, 'Okay, we're going to (let him on the show) and make us spectacular, let's really do things. That's what we try to do."
