After a nature-loving metal detector unearthed the cache of ancient treasures, an ordinary spring quickly became extraordinary.
Marius Mangeac confirmed the Fox News Digital's findings. He said he found holocaust near Letca Veche, a small village in southern Romania.
In a Facebook group, Mangeac said he found the coin “on a beautiful Saturday, no sign of what is about to happen.”

“I took the detector out alone with my detector and relaxed in the fields and forests as often as I did,” he wrote in the post.
“I don’t think this day would surprise me and face to face with history.”

But suddenly his metal detector started beating - soon, Mangeac looked at the hoard of 1,469 Roman coins.
Seeing the silver Denarii, Mangeac said his heart was "hard to beat him".

The amateur said: “(i) even thought of pinching myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.”

Speaking to Fox News Digital, Mangeac estimated that the coin is at least 2,000 years old.

After two tough days of shooting coins, he handed them over to Letca Nouă's town hall.

The metal detective concluded: “I hope one day I can bring my kids to the museum and explain to him that I was lucky enough to discover a page of the history of our people.”

Mangeac's discovery comes weeks after a pair of metal detectors discovered an ancient treasure in the Romanian commune of Breaza in Transylvania.
