For example, the new AI-driven feature in Summit membership allows users to build their own ideal tracking by starting from scratch or customizing existing trails. Smart routing uses AI to change the trails, making them shorter, steeper, and even “more scenic.”

The new trail conditions forecast will provide information about temperature, precipitation, snow accumulation and more, essentially placing the weather app in Alltrail. Alerts such as air quality and mosquito activity were also raised. Later updates will add terrain and ground conditions such as sidewalks, gravel or dirt.

The added heat map option can help hikers and cyclists who hate being trapped on crowded trails, as well as those who like crowds for safety purposes, such as when hiking alone. To work properly, the app can access millions of users' activities to provide estimated traffic data, similar to when Google Maps uses data to predict when a store, restaurant, bar, or other location is the "busiest" to be the case.
