Alex Warren currently holds No. 1 in the UK and US

The 12th week of American singer Alex Warren's Smash Hit Praniston in the UK is the longest ranking since Ed Sheeran's 2017 appearance on your form.

According to the official charting company, the 24-year-old wrote for his wife after the wedding, which aired 107 million times in the UK.

It broke the 70-year record for a week in a row, and it was number one for an American artist - surpassing Slim Whitman's Rose Marie, who spent 11 weeks in the highest competition in 1955.

The average performance shows no signs of disappearing - it remains the largest song on Spotify in the UK, with its streams 33% higher than its closest competitor in the service's latest daily rankings.

But it still has a certain way to go before capturing the longest number ever.

The longest number in history:

Warren Fame is one of the founders of The Hype House, a Tiktok group who lives in Los Angeles together and has hosted millions of teenagers during the pandemic.

Last year, he first made the top ten in Crand You Home, and then his career as a heartfelt folk pop singer-songwriter exploded, and is currently number one in the United States.

"It's huge," said James Masterton. "It's a single that crosses the line in the old-fashioned sense, and in a way we haven't seen it for a lot of time.

"It's the kind of record that sat comfortably on the playlists of Radio 1 and Radio 2, but ironically, both of them are now giving up and they both continue to play his new single. But here's an example of its true pan-generating appeal."

Normal has also become a popular wedding song, and Warren's record company even released a wedding version.

"In that sense, it has a lot in common with some other famous long-term tracks from the past, like (everything I did), I do it for you, love around me, I will love you forever. They are all very profound romantic songs."

But despite such great interest, the ever-changing media and musical habits mean that the average person has not become a common phenomenon in Bryan Adams and wet and dampness.

“The division of media means that the ability to record the ability to attract a large number of people’s attention has dropped rapidly,” Masterton said.

"When the record is No. 1 for 12 weeks, everyone knows who the superstar is."

The longest number in the 2020s:

The average is also the longest No. 1 since the chart rules change in 2017 to prevent the top 40 from being blocked by popular songs.

Compared to other markets, the chart formula automatically eliminates songs with a drop in streaming numbers for three consecutive weeks. But ordinary people are stable enough to avoid their fate so far.
