A car runs a red light in Taiwan and kills three people, including two 12-year-old girls

Taipei, Taiwan - A group of people in Taiwan left flowers and snacks near the intersection on Tuesday, and a driver ploughed pedestrians the day before and killed three people, including two 12-year-old girls.

The crash put the 78-year-old driver into a coma, which put many on the autonomous island of 23 million people on the east coast of China.

A video released by Taiwan’s Central News Agency shows people praying and bowing in front of colorful flowers and snack bags. Taiwan often treats snacks as a dedication, and sometimes the deceased's favorite snack.

A small group of family members waved a dress during the ceremony - a small top and a dress that looked like a T-shirt - designed to help the souls of the dead find their way home.

President Lai Ching-te, who visited the injured victim at the hospital on Monday night, delivered a major policy speech by expressing his “deepest condolences” to the families of the deceased. He said the government will work as soon as possible to determine the cause of the accident and evaluate future methods to prevent such accidents.

Police said the driver accelerated at the intersection when traffic lights were spread all over the world. The accident occurred in New Taipei, a huge area in the northern northern part of the capital Taipei.

The fast-moving car, paired with three scooters and a bicycle at the intersection, then hit the elementary school student and his guardian who had crossed the street late Monday afternoon, the news agency said. When the vehicle enters T AC at the end of the street, the vehicle keeps straightening, hitting another person, and then hitting the concrete divider.

Earlier video released by the news agency showed debris scattered at the intersection and provided CPR to two victims, one behind a red scooter lying beside him.

A 40-year-old woman died with two students from a nearby junior high school. The other twelve people were injured. They included seven students from the same school and a 5-year-old boy who were slightly injured, according to statements from the new Taipei government and fire department.

Five people, including the driver, were seriously injured. The Central News Agency quoted police as saying that he tested negative for drinking. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
