President Trump was inaugurated for the second time on Monday.

The inauguration kicked off the day in historic fashion, with the ceremony moved indoors due to cooler temperatures. There were some notable moments throughout the day, including Trump's fiery speech shortly after being sworn in and an audio mishap that inadvertently turned into a collaborative singing event.

Here are five key moments from Trump's second inauguration.

"America's golden age begins now," Trump said shortly after being sworn in. "Starting today, our country will thrive and once again be respected around the world."

In his first formal speech as president, Trump said the United States will now "be the envy of every country, and we will never allow ourselves to be taken advantage of again."

The president attacked the Biden-Harris administration as the former president and vice president looked on. Trump specifically blasted the "Department of Justice and the evil, violent and unfair weaponization of our government" and said the country has been operating under a "radical and corrupt agency."

"While the pillars of our society are shattered and appear to be in complete disrepair, we now have a government that is incapable of handling even a simple domestic crisis," Trump said.

Trump has criticized the Biden administration's handling of various national disasters, including hurricane damage in North Carolina and recent wildfires in California.

"January 20, 2025 is Liberation Day," Trump said. "I hope our most recent presidential election will be remembered as the greatest and most important election in the history of our country."

The ball was one of two others attended by Trump: the Liberty Ball and the Starlight Ball.

Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife Usha also joined Trump and Melania on the stage for a quick dance before switching partners with military members.

First Lady Melania Trump donned a weather-appropriate outfit for her husband's second inauguration. According to "Page Six", on Inauguration Day, Melania was photographed wearing a custom-made double-breasted navy coat by Adam Lippes on her way to St. John's Church for a ceremony. Social media users took to X (formerly Twitter) to praise the First Lady's inaugural look, with many saying she looked "elegant" and "elegant."

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman, on the other hand, wore a slightly warmer outfit to the inauguration. When Fetterman arrived on Capitol Hill, he was seen wearing gray athletic shorts, a dark hoodie and sneakers.

The senator's attire also drew attention given Monday's frigid temperatures. Trump's second inauguration marked the coldest presidential inauguration in more than 40 years.

Trump and Melania's Awkward Kiss Attempt

Trump attempted to kiss Melania shortly before being sworn in after entering the Capitol rotunda, resulting in an awkward air kiss.

Trump and Melania Trump were surrounded by the former president and his wife, Cabinet nominees, foreign dignitaries and other notables as they entered the building. Trump leaned forward and kissed Melania on the cheek as Melania's hat obscured her face.

They ended up blowing kisses.

Carrie Underwood sings a cappella after music accident

Country singer Carrie Underwood proved she's a true pro while singing "America the Beautiful" after suffering hiccups during her music.

Underwood was greeted with a round of applause when he was introduced. Once on stage, Underwood patiently waited for the instrument to play, but it never came.

"If you know the words, please help me," she said at last, before launching into an a cappella version of the song.

The audience, which included the former president and vice president, also sang the song.

Underwood closed her performance by shaking Biden's hand and sharing her time with Trump and the vice president Vance before leaving the room.
