49ers RB Isaac Guerendo falls into NFL trade rumors

When the Professional Football and Sports Network released a layoff or trade candidate named for every NFL team, an interesting name poured into the NFL trade rumor factory.

It's certainly difficult to find a large number of veterans in the San Francisco 49ers roster, who may trade or cut this offseason. They pruned many layoffs or trade candidates early in the offseason to accelerate some of their upcoming financial hurdles.

This led to PFSN's name as sophomore Isaac Guerendo, the player the 49ers can plan to trade with after joining two rookies during the NFL draft.

By PFSN:

The San Francisco 49ers can never resist the tempting prospect of a tranquil run. Last year, that player was Isaac Guerendo, but he may have been old news. The Niners selected Oregon’s Bruising Jordan James in the fifth round, which is a solid value for some who thinks it might be possible on Day 2. San Francisco then signed PFSN's highest UDFA UDFA run, Corey Kiner of Cincinnati.

Kiner is not only because of his enrollment rankings, but also because of his experience in the regional running program at Bearcats. This should make him perfect for Kyle Shanahan's offense and give Kiner a better chance than most undrafted rookies. With McCaffrey and James also locked in, there may be only a few spots left in the backcourt.

Glendo should still be considered a favorite to earn one of the locations. Still, it's interesting that the 49ers added a pair of rookies known for their decisive running style. Despite all his body gifts, Guerendo's tendency to dance is sometimes frustrating, as he is an extremely prosperous choice among a small number of carrying samples. If he improves his decisiveness in the offseason, his athleticism should continue the day, but if Shanahan doesn't believe Guerendo in the RB2 role, there are other options for the 49ers.

While the 49ers aren't impossible to move on from Guerendo, his passing ability shines and could make him a big part of the San Francisco offense this season.

In seven games, Glendo grabbed 14 of 15 targets for 147 yards, and he played 10 offensive percentages. It was a 34 catch all season, with a total of 357 yards.

Apart from the production, the most impressive part of Guerendo as a pass catcher is the various ways he pulls in the reception, and quarterback Brock Purdy trusts him in the tight windows. It's crucial to find a defender who complements Christian McCaffrey enough to make the 49ers not have to make a big difference in their offense when they're in the wild.

Perhaps both James and Kiner fuse the Monsters Training Camp performances, where they provide viable pass threats and make Guerendo disappear. For now, he is an important part of the 49ers' backcourt and the trade involving him would be a big surprise.
