Niners John Lynch provides latest information on quarterback Brock Purdy negotiations
49ers general manager John Lynch revealed in the NFL that the team is negotiating with people at Purdy to secure him as a future quarterback.
Brock Purdy reportedly doesn't matter now, as the quarterback's five-year contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers was reportedly $265 million.
The quarterback has been living the NFL dream life, from the last pick in the 2022 NFL draft to now earning a huge payday from the league’s most historic franchise.
Purdy helped the 49ers make his rookie season appearance in his rookie season after taking the San Francisco quarterback with an injury. In those three seasons, he has achieved a 23-13 record in 36 regular seasons, won the Pro Bowl in the 2023 MVP vote and finished fourth.
The year in San Francisco has fallen, but hopefully compete again in 2025 in the best games in the league.
They also completed the extension with George Kittle, who signed to Star Sight for a four-year contract worth $76.4 million and secured a $40 million margin, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. This makes him the highest-paid ending in NFL history.
Now, it's Purdy's turn to cash. Here is the latest contract details for the quarterback.
Paddy reportedly agreed to a five-year deal worth $265 million.
According to TheCop, the average annual value (AAV) of the deal is $53 million, tying him to the seventh highest paid quarterback with Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions.
The 25-year-old, who signed his rookie contract in 2025, hits about $5.36 million from blocks after earning about $2.63 million in total in his first three seasons.
Purdy is about to make the 2024 season, which gives him a 6-9 record in 15 games. His career was low, with a completion rate of 65.9%, while abandoning 12 interceptions and being fired 31 times, all of which were the highest in his career.
It's known that this is a disappointing season for the quarterbacks in the 49ers' year. Nevertheless, Purdy hasn't done anything since she arrived in the Bay Area.
Whether perceptions will change after a big deal remains to be seen, but it is clear that Purdy must be the driving force behind the 49ers' victory.
After all, they did not pay him as a passenger.
