Austin Football Club is in a losing streak in the MLS game.
Cape Verde and Black beat TQL Stadium's Cincinnati 2-1 in Saturday's third straight league game as Evander and Gerardo Valenzuela scored for the hosts while Brandon Vazquez punished Austin FC.
Here are some key points of the game, as Austin Football Club (5-6-1, 16 points) has won only once in the league since the calendar turned to April as it entered a major midweek home game against Atlanta:
Two defensive turnovers led Austin Football Club.
Evander was blocked outside the box on his goal earlier in the first half, considering that the Brazilian scored 15 goals a year ago and scored 19 assists and had already entered the game with seven goals - Austin FC scored the same as a club, which is strange because he has as much room as Verde & Black scored.
Ilie Sánchez stopped tracking Evander on the run, and no Austin Football defender was quickly promoted to challenge him. The end result was predictable: a curl was bypassed by goalkeeper Brad Stuver to the other side of the goal.
Evander received a victory from Austin FC in his second goal in Cincinnati.
Leaving again this time for easy access to the pass, this time it was Austin Football Club defender approaching, but he reached out to Valenzuela, who hit the goal.
Zan Kolmanic failed to track Valenzuela in the game, which proved to be expensive.
If Guilherme Biro was earlier in the game, Guilherme Biro might be able to skip and clear the ball, but Austin Football Club's defense looked happy after the 70th minute.
This brings us to the next point of view…
Austin Football Club coach Nico Estévez's replacement time is doubtful at best.
Verde & Black played two days off on a two-day break, but Estévez didn't advance until the 72nd minute, although Austin FC stepped on the back for at least the first 10 minutes. He then waited until after the 80th minute to take off Myrto Uzuni (and another ineffective match), although he seemed exhausted.
Without Mikkel Desler, Dani Pereira and Robert Taylor, they were all injured, and in Estévez's defense, he didn't have many defensive options.
However, it's a game where Austin Football Club needs fresh legs earlier than later, and that doesn't happen.
Vazquez's fine (for Austin Football Club) is lucky that there are few handballs in the box that can mask the club's ongoing problems on the offensive end.
Cape Verde and Black scored only two goals, and despite enough championships in the first half and a lot of crosses throughout the game, there was never a sense that Austin Football Club was about to score.
Even the Apple TV broadcast team questioned Verde & Black Attack's cohesion.
Austin Football Club has still scored only one goal in the MLS game since defeating St. Louis 1-0 on March 30.
This is something that needs to be changed quickly.
The loss on the road in Cincinnati itself is not involved - the club is unbeaten at home, sitting at the Eastern Conference - but Austin FC's recent results are.
Verde & Black put himself in the position with a 1-4-1 record in the last six league games - a win that was one of the worst teams in the Los Angeles Galaxy - with Atlanta on Wednesday's game against Atlanta than in May.
Austin FC played the following two games in the Western Conference and Minnesota, and the positive game is that those clubs this season will be done with those clubs during the season, but the harsh reality is that the loss to Atlanta means that Verde & Black might be staring at the actual possibility of a six-game winning streak in the league.
Stuver made three highlights - Riel Savings to keep Austin Football Club in the game.
