3 points of Syracuse defeating Princeton 19-18
Syracuse (13-5) defeated Princeton on Saturday afternoon at Shuart Stadium in Hampstead, NY, and Ny Su reached the NCAA semifinal next weekend, with the victory bringing Cuse lacrosse back to the national stage.
The program’s “Head ... Heart ... Hustle” mantra never ended the 12-year drought more clearly because they missed the semifinals.
In a game between two great shows in the sport in the NCAA Championship Age (1971), the game features 10 ties and 6 lead changes, with so many players on the orange roster with a lot of players in the orange roster, finally finally overcame the hump of the playoffs.
Of course, you can highlight Joey Spallina's superb game with four goals and four assists, including Owen Hiltz winning the game and playing with a score of 3:50 (Hiltz himself had 3 goals and two assists).
You can also quote John Mullen before the break to send out the Cuse key rivalry victory in the third quarter 6-1 Blitz, while Jimmy McCool kept his torture in the fourth quarter, which led him to the final of his 12 saves in the last minute, which brought his last Tigers to a game with Stymie hitting the last Tigers.
But it was also the backup goalkeeper Michael Ippoliti impressed his teammates, and after McCall was asked to make a non-finite free throw two minutes before halftime, Ippoliti saved Spallina's "pathological" in a short time in the third quarter, which helped save the "pathological" into the third quarter, helping him to knock his team down with six goals and six goals.
The amazing 2025 playoff run continues.
Slumped to North Carolina's third loss in the regular season finale and called on social media to move forward from Gary Gait for just three weeks, Sue took four playoff wins in an impressive way under Gary Gait. It's simple, "Cuse" is the best lacrosse ball in the most important month of May.
Either in defensive efforts, such as winning the ACC with a 9-8 win, a huge comeback against Harvard in the first round, or walking back and forth with an equally talented offense like Princeton, Gait, his coordinator, and most importantly, every player deserves attention to his achievements.
"I think we can win a big game. I don't know." Spallina sarcastically said about the negative emotions of SU's fan base at the end of the regular season.
Next up is a national semi-final with Maryland or Georgetown.
Perhaps there is a sign that this year’s championship weekend competed at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, and perhaps the location of the last two Orange National Championships under John Desko in 2008 and 2009, beating longtime rivals Johns Hopkins and Cornell, respectively, to beat the trophy respectively.
SU has some NCAA history on both Terps and Hoyas, falling to Maryland 13-7 in the quarterfinals in the 2016 quarterfinals, while Desko lost 18-8 to Georgetown in the first round in his final game as head coach in 2021.
Syracuse will have to wait until Sunday afternoon to find its semi-final rival as Maryland/Georgetown follows Penn State/Notre Dame in another season quarterfinal in Annapolis, Maryland.
Cornell has also reached the semi-finals, with the two long-time Northern rivals likely to meet in the championship game, a rematch of the 2009 finals in the same field.
