The couple celebrated the occasion alone on a beach by the sea with umbrellas, roses and blankets.

The pair both attend the University of North Carolina and celebrated their nine-year dating anniversary last October.

The New England Patriots drafted Meyer third overall, and after some early struggles, he's looking much better as he continues to make an impact on the field.

After initially starting the season as Jacoby Brissett's backup, he became the starter in Week 6 and finished with 2,276 passing yards with a 66.6 completion percentage in a dozen starts. He threw for 15 touchdowns on 10 interceptions while adding 421 yards and two scores.

Meyer isn't the only quarterback in the AFC East to get engaged recently.

Buffalo Bills' Josh Allen puts a ring on musician Hailee Steinfeld's finger.

The engagement is certainly a nice break from the recent drama surrounding the Patriots -- the team fired first-year head coach Jerod Mayo after the season ended in New England, a move that was criticized by former Harsh criticism from the Patriots.

However, earlier this week they made a not-so-surprising move and hired Mike Vrabel, who also could have been hired last offseason.

Hopefully Pats fans can help Meyer get his second ring — the next one being a Super Bowl championship ring.
