CJ Enm announced Monday that 17 members from Hoshi and Woozi (HXW), women's IVE and NMIXX, and boy groups Zerobaseone and P1Harmony were the first wave of artists at KCON LA.
KCON, the world does not. 1 K Pop Festival, which will return to downtown Los Angeles Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena for a three-day event, gives local K-Pop fans the chance to see several of their favorite behaviors under the same roof. Historically, the festival held day programs at the Convention Center and then brought the ticket champions from the street to the stage for a night concert.
This year, KCON LA will feature a “festive venue” with a view to including more content and making the experience more immersive, according to a press release. The theme of KCON 2025 is Klover's Club Fair, which the festival's parent company says has drawn inspiration from four-leaf clover to bring luck and joy to attendees.
The festival will once again take advantage of several stages, including the artist stage, meet and greeting, stage X and M Countdown (named after the music show of the cable channel MNET owned by CJ). According to a press release, the artist and party and greeting phase will be used for fans to have the opportunity to approach their favorite artists, while the X stage will showcase emerging talent. Precise phase programming has not been released yet.
In addition to HXW, IVE, NMIXX, P1HARMONY and ZEROBASEONE, KCON LA's initial lineup includes Gravity, J-Pop Group is: Sue, Izna, J-Pop Group Jo1, rappers Lee Youngji and Singer-Songer-Songwriter Roy Kim. More artists are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Last year’s festival was by far the largest range. The last part of the festival’s concert, known as M Countdown, was broadcast live on the CW, and it was the first time that K-Pop was shown on national television in prime time. Actress Awkwafina made a special appearance, with NCT 127 members Johnny and Mark.
KCON LA is scheduled to be held from August 1 to 3. More details about ticket sales, precision programming and other artists will be announced later.
