    Band members showcased the song after losing their studio and a home in an ongoing fire

    After experiencing first-hand the devastation of Southern California fires, Dawes appeared on jimmy kimmel live paying homage to their city with a special performance, “LA Time.”

    Taylor Goldsmith and Griffin Goldsmith perform intimate showcase of songs from band's 2011 album on Late Night stage no problem.     Last week, Taylor's wife, Mandy Moore, revealed that much of their home in Altadena and Goldsmith's home studio were destroyed in a fire. “Miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing. For now. It's uninhabitable but mostly intact,” she wrote on social media. “We lost Taylor and Griffin's studio and every instrument and piece of equipment they ever had. We lost the garage and the back room.”

    Moore later revealed that Griffin and his pregnant wife, who lived in the same neighborhood, also lost their home in the fire. “Their first child is due in a few weeks and they need our support now more than ever,” she said. “Griff was a touring musician who also lost his entire arsenal of drum/percussion instruments that he used to make a living.” She also shared a GoFundMe to help Griffin's family.

    Taylor recounts his experience with fire in a touching story rolling stones. “There are parts of Altadena, blocks and blocks where everything is gone,” he shared. “It looks like a nuclear bomb went off.
