- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said North Korean troops returned to the frontlines in Russia's Kursk region after reports that Moscow had withdrawn them due to huge losses. “New attacks occurred in the Kursk operation area…Russian troops and North Korean soldiers were introduced again,” Zelenskyy said in a speech on Friday evening. He added that “a large number of” opposition parties were “destroyed”, saying: ” We are talking about hundreds of Russian and North Korean soldiers.”
- Russia's defense ministry said on Friday that Moscow's forces occupied the key to the eastern mining town of Tolesk in eastern Ukraine. Kyiv denied that Russia had full control over the city.
- The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency said on Friday that there has been an increase in attacks on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Russian state news agency Tass quoted Grossi – after meeting with Alexei Likhachev, head of Russian nuclear company Rosatom, he said it was impossible to determine which side of the attack. Zelenskyy said the “talk” was planned, but the meeting was not confirmed. “We are also planning meetings and speeches at the team level. - The French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs said on Friday that European Foreign Ministers will discuss the war at a meeting in Paris. Ministers from France, Germany, Poland, Britain, Spain and Italy will attend talks on Wednesday, just before the third anniversary of the Russian invasion, the ministry said. The meeting aims to “express ongoing support to Ukraine.”
- The Kremlin said Friday there were many inaccurate reports about the U.S. plan to end the Ukrainian war and call for patience.
- Ukraine said the International Criminal Court (ICC) will continue to prosecute Russian war criminals despite Trump's sanctions announced this week. A spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said: “We hope that they (sanctions) will not affect the court's ability to achieve justice for victims of Russian aggression.”
