Rihanna returns with the club's “My Friend”

Rihanna put down a new single “My Friend”. The optimistic, Afrobeats-inspired dance track was written for the upcoming animated film Smurfsthe singer vocalist vocalized in it.

The video of this song sees Rihanna approaching the Smurfs’ village with huge flowers as umbrellas. As she enters the room, it transitions to animation, while the blue critter dances along the lively track and takes some impressive moves. The club-ready single is Rihanna’s first new music since 2022, Black Panther: Wakanda forever Soundtrack.

“My Friend” will appear in Smurfs The soundtrack, along with the “higher love” of DJ Khaled, Cardi B and Desi Trill, which fell in February. The soundtrack is scheduled to be released on June 13 through ROC Nation Distribution, and will also release new songs from Tyla.
