Rangers fans strike: What supporters think after Ibrox strike
The move makes sense…
Alexander Wallace: The team couldn't get anything done in more than 20 or 30 minutes. Against a better team, the Rangers will struggle. The passing game was poor and the defense was sloppy. These three points hide nothing. I can't say I blame those who left; the protests have to start somewhere and have to mean something. Will the crowds decrease next season?
Brian Robinson: I can understand why some supporters went out to protest what was happening in and around the park. Even a 3-1 victory over a team at the bottom of the league wasn't enough to convince these and more supporters that things had improved. The scoreline looks good for Rangers. Will firing the manager solve the problem? I doubt it.
Sally: The fans' frustration is worth it. If the board supports Clement, provide him with the funding he needs to make changes.
…or maybe those who left Ibrox were wrong
James Bannatyne: I didn't get some “supportive” reaction. We are getting what we asked for. Lower weekly pay – yes. Younger team – yes. Transfer value – higher. Financial Responsibility – Improvement. Rebuild – A good start, but only half-assed at best. New Board – happening now. All in less than six months? Impossible!
John Cameron: A comfortable win was marred by the actions and behavior of a handful of fans who were rightfully booed by the real fans. The Rangers aren't done yet, but they have some good young players who need encouragement rather than demoralization.
Barry Hume: Mindless idiots do not represent the club. They are placed behind the goal to make a positive sound. Shame on them and the club for transferring long term season ticket holders. They dress in black and yell throughout the game no matter what happens. Poor. Deactivate their tickets and move on with real fans.
Ross: Only watched at home, so maybe I missed something, but I thought it was a good performance (at least the first half) and definitely an improvement over recent away games. When the Bears left, I thought it was disgusting behavior. You have the right to protest, but frustrating players and coaches during games is a rubbish idea.
Anonymous: Disgruntled fans need to get a hold of their emotions. Support our teams and support them, not shame them. I've been a supporter for a long time – over 60 years. You are always blue. I'm married to a Celtics fan who is happy for our team.
Lenny: Three points in another game in which the team only played 45 minutes. I don't agree that some fans left in the 55th minute, but I agree that the manager should leave now. This has to be one of the worst Rangers teams in a long time.
