PSG V Arsenal: Declan Rice said the Gunners need “big ball and magic moments” to reach the Champions League final.

Declan Rice said that if the semi-final deficit against Paris St-Germain and reach the Champions League final, Arsenal needed a “big ball” and a “magic moment”.

The side of Mikel Arteta faced the French champion on Wednesday (20:00 BST) as it lost its first leg 1-0 last week due to an early strike at the Emirates Stadium last week.

Arsenal is trying to reach its first Champions League final since 2006.

“We need big balls, we need to go there on the biggest stage and show that we are ready to play at this level,” Rice said.

He added: “It's a semi-final, 90 minutes from the final – I think that tells you everything you need to know.

“I think the manager talks to us – we as a group of players know what we can achieve tomorrow night, and it’s a football game.

“We can go there, we can do a huge achievement for this club, and that's what we want to do. We obviously know we're behind 1-0, but we're totally convinced, completely positive that we're going there to win tomorrow night.”

Arsenal worked hard to contain PSG in the early stages of the first leg, but Rice said he and his teammates were confident that they could get the results after changing the Ateta changes.

“You feel like there's a lot of action in the midfield in the first leg. They (PSG) run around and create a lot of space for each other,” he said.

“The way between them is very, very smart. But once we figured out how to beat them – obviously we missed some opportunities, but as far as how we drove with the ball and offered our winners one-on-one opportunities, the opportunity started to open up.

“I think we need to do the same thing tomorrow night.”

Rice played a major role in reaching this stage of the game at Arsenal.

England International won two free kicks in the first training session of the quarterfinals, 3-0, and won the match prize in two tie.

He said manager Arteta regularly tells his players about production under high pressure.

“He's always talking about someone who wants to provide a magical moment,” Rice said.

“I think it’s incredible that I was able to produce two free kicks against Madrid.

“But tomorrow night, a semi-final was set so that others might get that magical moment.

“Hopefully it’s me again, but you’ll need a moment of magic to win the game, and as a team we’ll need it.

“So tomorrow night, hopefully we can offer something special.”
