Pope Francis's funeral held a moral mirror for modern politics
Even in death, the moral voice of Pope Francis sounded around the world.
With 40,000 people huddled into St. Peter's Square in the Vatican, another 250,000 in the surrounding streets, millions watched on TV and online, world leaders including Donald Trump reminded Francis of the core message at Saturday's funeral.
“'Building a bridge, not a wall, is his repeated admonition,” Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re said while serving the late pope. “His gestures and admonitions to support refugees and displaced people. His persistence in working on behalf of the poor is unchanged.”
War “always make the world worse than before: for everyone, it’s always a painful and miserable failure.”

Francis often opposed geopolitical trends. He urged more sympathy for immigrants and refugees during the White House and other governments’ crackdowns. When these crises only intensified, he called for an end to the Gaza war and condemned climate change and capitalism exploitation.
Under the warm blue sky, the whole world is watching In a world characterized by economic and military power, Francis's lonely voice reminds people. At least on this day, notes on whether the late Pontiff’s replacement would continue these progressive tendencies or restore them to a more conservative tendency, at least in the day.
Francis' funeral was relatively simple, and he died Monday at the age of 88. Trump sat in Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Ukraine, Emmanuel Macron of France, President Luis Inasio Lula da Silva of Brazil and Prince William of Britain.

Francis' coffin is the last journey on the so-called pop car on the streets of Rome, passing landmarks such as The Colosseum, heading to the Cathedral of Major St. Mary, where he chose to be buried.
People on the streets come from all over the world.
“I can't have been anywhere else today. Pope Francis is a great pope, and it's a gift. “He loved us and taught us piety.” It's hard to have another pope like him. ”
According to his will, at the Cathedral of Major St. Mary, his coffin was stolen by Rome's poor and needy people, including prisoners, immigrants, homeless and transgender people.

This is just a reflection of the pope, who did something different. He had even adjusted his funeral plan: Although the former pope was swallowed by three nested coffins, Francis asked him to bury it in a single simple wooden coffin lined with zinc.
Even so, this is still an event under epic je. From the arc-shaped dome of St. Peter's Basilica, one of the largest churches in the world, to a striking image of a square, between the red mass of one side (cardinal and bishop) while black is black – the VIP attendees.
In life, Francis refused to live in the Vatican's Gilded Apostle Palace and chose it more Pribia's hotel, Casa Santa Marta, who died after a widely publicized illness.

Francis has many critics who all think they are focused on a progressive cause, and a more liberal audience, who think they are not far enough in reform.
Either way, his frequent and outspoken interruptions on world affairs will leave a blank. Despite his conversations about the freedom of more prominent figures around the world, his funeral remains a profound political event.
RE reminds people that Francis prefers walls over walls, which has led the late pope to criticize Trump's criticism of Trump's first commitment to building the U.S.-Mexico border wall.

He said at the time: “A man who only considers building walls and does not build bridges wherever he is, is not a Christian.”
The day before Francis died, Francis met with Vice President JD Vance for his severe condemnation of the Trump administration’s attack on immigration and cuts to international aid. In February, he said there was a “major crisis” in the United States, referring to “massive deportation program.”
The funeral may inevitably have so many powerful characters, and this is the forum for real-world geopolitics. Seeing Trump having a static discussion with Zelenskyy, two political parties, they say they are trying to negotiate a peace deal with Russia's Vladimir Putin.

The Ukrainian leader then said on X that it was a “good meeting”. But there is little indication that Francis' death will resolve a crisis that he cannot affect in his life.
Yet, despite scandals and uncertainties within the church, few people in Frances’ platform disagree.
Reflecting this again, while closing Homri: “Embraise humanity, seek truth with a sincere heart, and have high hopes.”
