It does get stuck in a boring plot surrounding the dysfunctional family dynamics, which leaves you impatiently dead. But once they do, that terrible fun will recover. The gory work, involving lawn mowers, garbage trucks, and the most spectacular MRI machines, is so cleverly planned that the audience inspires everyone in the preview screening, as if it were songs and dance numbers. The combination of CGI and practical effects works seamlessly, and the sequences are sadistically edited to maximise tension, thankfully, frequent doses of media humor can be alleviated.

Santa Juana becomes an attractive heroine, while Richard Harmon is a very interesting moment for Stefani’s crafty cousin. But the highlight of the show comes from the late Tony Todd, a series’ midstream channel whose final screen appearance is the iconic character of the mysterious William Bludworth. The film’s dedicated actor returns to a brief scene that looks weak and obviously sick. But he is still the command post, which makes him a reminder that in real life, just like in these movies, everyone is dead.
