Motorola Razr Ultra and Razr (2025) Review: Gorgeous Folding Phone

Moto X Since 2013, this is one of my favorite smartphones of all time. Motorola, which was owned by Google, made its debut, the workshop debuted and lets you customize the design of your phone, from changing the color before and after to adding different accents to the buttons. You can even sign for additional personalization.

In the smartphone world, this playful nature remains elusive, but thanks to companies like Motorola and Motorola, people have glimpsed. Example: The new RAZR 2025 family consisting of Razr Ultra, Razr+ and Razr. Motorola could have taken the Samsung approach and retained the regular glass panel design we used for folding phones, but nothing. RAZR Ultra allows you to choose between Alcantara, wood, leather and satin style designs. The basic Razr has bright, powerful colors with acetic acid, nylon or leather-style finish.

I have the Pantone Spring Bud Razr, a leather-style mint green- my wife’s eyes lit up when she saw it (asked her if she could take a bite, naturally). Even my hard-to-impress dad said, “It’s a nice color.” I prefer the FSC certified Pantone Mountain Trail on the Razr Ultra, a real wood that exudes the class. Guess what? The original Moto X also has wood. They may not be customizable, but these Razr look great, feel great, and look nothing.

The RAZR 2025 lineup is not completely different from last year's model. Literally, the RAZR+ 2025 ($1,000) is almost the same as the Razr+ 2024, and now the company’s titanium hinge-resistant board panels improve durability. Its specifications are the same, which is probably why Motorola doesn't bother sending the audit unit. Instead, I've been testing RAZR 2025 ($700) and RAZR Ultra ($1,300).

Adding a third entry in the RAZR series adds unnecessary complexity, so I've added a spec sheet here to help you understand these devices. Essentially, the RAZR Ultra is the best, with the latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, higher storage and RAM options, the largest battery, faster charging speeds, dedicated AI buttons, and even a more durable ceramic glass screen. It also has a better camera and is the only one that offers Dolby Vision recording for more colors in the video. The Razr+ is located in the rung below, although its battery life is its weakness as it has the smallest capacity, and the RAZR is still one of the cheapest folding flip phones.

The performance is excellent, although this makes more sense on the basic RAZR model, which gave me some fluctuating performance in previous models. You may still see some Studters here and there on your $700 phone, but that's very little, and overall, I'm very happy with it. Even if I prefer the slightly larger screen on the Razr Ultra, these monitors (external and internal) are treble. They get very bright and the high refresh rate makes everything appear smooth.
